Sony HDR-CX220 review

Sony HDR-CX220

Dear readers of my blog! I want to introduce Sony HDR-CX220 provided by Sony.

My first HD camcorder. Very affordable with good features. You do have to purchase a memory card for this, but there are lots of good buys out there in cards that are specifically designed for HD video recording. It's so easy to operate. With a 32GB card, you have over 6 hrs of HD recording time. It's basically point and shoot. You can pause the recording and restart with one button, you can zoom. It mounts easily to a tripod and decent inexpensive tripods are available for $15 or less.
I purchased the charger to go along with this camera as it allows you to record for long periods of time w/o having to stop and recharge the battery. The battery will charge slowly from a USB port, but this charger also does a very quick charge in minutes. The camera comes in cool colors. The quality of the video is certainly HD.
There are a number of advanced options to select from in recording modes, etc, but right out of the box it's ready to record in full HD with sound. Unless you need a more advanced camcorder, it's hard to beat this one. Comes with image stabilization built in too for hand held shooting.

The best place to buy Sony HDR-CX220:

With Sony HDR-CX220 you get:

  • 1920x1080 Full HD 60p with 8.9MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor
  • SteadyShot image stabilization reduces blur
  • 27x Optical / 32x Extended Zoom to get even closer to the action
  • 29.8mm wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar Lens
  • 2.7" wide Clear Photo LCD display (230K)

Create high definition 1920 x 1080 60p videos and high quality 8.9MP still images. Experience stunning low-light sensitivity with improved image clarity and drastically reduced grain with Sony's back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Designed for compact cameras and camcorders, the ExmorR CMOS sensor relocates the photo diodes above the support circuitry, maximizing the light gathering area per pixel so you can shoot with better results in lower lighting conditions.
